Lekki Free Trade Zone Area, Lagos

The Lekki Free Trade Zone, (which is the essence of our discourse), is either set to be one of the best decisions an investor or even a property buyer will make or the worst regret to come for one in the nearest future.

The Zone is where you have the Lekki Deep Seaport, Dangote Refinery and Petrochemical Industry, Dangote Fertilizer Plant, International (Cargo) Airport, Lekki International Golf Course, Pan Atlantic University, Eleganza Industries and so many other developments. In fact a study surmises that more than a thousand new developments are coming into the Free Trade Zone Area, all with the capacity to generate millions of dollars’ worth of revenue. This is therefore the essence of all the widely held beliefs of the region being the ideal investment destination for property investors. To the potential investor however, the important question is where exactly is the Free Trade Zone so as to properly invest?

To answer this question, we will explain the Free Trade Zone under two broad locations with regard to the ongoing key projects there. These are the Free Trade Zone axis proper and the Elerangbe/Ilamija/Epe axis.


Free Trade Zone Axis.

This axis is projected to be the heart of the most commercial districts in Lagos State and it stretches on the one hand from the Eleko Beach Road through the Free Trade Zone Road to La Campagne Tropicana Resort and down to Igbogun axis. On the other hand, it runs down the Lekki Epe Expressway down after Ilamija to the North East Quadrant that almost abuts the Lagos Lagoon and Epe main town. This axis hosts the Free Trade Zone proper, Lekki Deep Seaport, Dangote Refinery and Petrochemical Industry, Dangote Fertilizer Plant, Kellogs, numerous bonding facilities as well as diverse commercial ventures.

The Lekki Free Zone is designed to be a satellite city to Lagos with dynamic commerce, trade and modern industrial sectors and an eco-city for residents. The Master Plan covers a total area of about 30 square kilometres with 27 square kilometres for urban construction purposes and is projected to accommodate a total resident population of 120,000.

The Elerangbe/Ilamija/Epe Axis:

This axis is where you find the cheapest plots of land in Ibeju-Lekki presently and it is mostly a residential location. It comprises of places like Oke-Ogun Village, Tagbati, Mayunre  all the way to Arapagi and Oriba Town on one hand and on the other hand, it stretches along the Lekki Epe Expressway from Elerangbe itself down to Ilamija and Epe main town which has undergone such a drastic change ,development wise, that it is now known as the Victoria Island of the axis. The key infrastructures expected to open up this location is the proposed 4th Mainland Bridge and the Lekki International Airport. This is the area we have most of our estates presently.
